Ottobock

Ottobock is one of the world leaders in the field of innovative prosthetics, orthotics and wheelchairs for people with limited mobility. The company was founded in 1919, by German orthopedic technician Otto Bock. His innovative idea of producing lines of prosthetics components and supplying them directly to orthopedic technicians laid the foundations for the development of the global orthopedics industry. Today, Ottobock, still headquartered in Germany, has sales centers and service departments in 46 countries, exports in more than 140 countries, and employs more than 5,000 motivated people around the world. In 2011 the company had sales of 583 million euros. Ottobock has been a Partner to the Paralympic Games providing technical service to all athletes and members of the Paralympic Family since the Seoul 1988 Paralympic Games. A Worldwide Paralympic Partner of the International Paralympic Committee since 2005, Ottobock extended its sponsorship until 2016 at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
