Alexey Khraban was born in 1975. In 2000, he graduated from the State Kuban University with a degree in history, sociology and foreign affairs. He worked for a series of commercial organizations until 2005, when he became Head of the Sochi Youth Committee, serving as an acting counselor for the Head of the city of Sochi for investment affairs. During Sochi’s bid to host the 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Khraban was appointed to the position of Director for the Directorate of Sochi participation in the 2014 Winter Games. He also served on the Sochi 2014 Bid Committee as a Director responsible for relations between the Krasnodar Region and the city of Sochi administrations. From October 2006 to January 2008, Khraban was a Deputy Head of the city of Sochi for organizational matters regarding the 2014 Winter Games. Subsequently he was appointed Director of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee Representative Office in Sochi. In 2010, Alexey Khraban graduated from the Russian Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation, specializing in State Municipal Administration. He is married and has two daughters and a son.
