
Diana Gurtskaya
Singer and Sochi 2014 Ambassador
Diana Gurtskaya is a singer, a Distinguished Artist of the Russian Federation and a Sochi 2014 Ambassador. Diana was born on July 2, 1978 in Sukhumi, Georgia. She graduated from a boarding school for blind and visually impaired children in Tbilisi. By the age of 10, Diana had made her debut in a performance with the Tbilisi Philharmonic, singing with Georgian singer, Irma Sokhadze. In 1995 Diana won an award at the music contest, "Yalta - Moscow - Transit", later graduating from the variety department of the Moscow Gnesin School of Music in 1999. Diana is actively involved in charity work and has established a foundation to help blind and visually impaired children and is proactively involved in organizing the "White Cane" festival. In 2008 Diana Gurtskaya became a Sochi 2014 Ambassador and helps promote the ideas of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements throughout Russia and around the world.“I am honored to become an Ambassador of Russia’s first ever Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games on this remarkable day!”
