Ice dancer, Olympic Medalist, producer of ice shows and Sochi 2014 Ambassador
Ilya Averbukh won a silver medal in figure skating at the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, won gold at the world championships in 2002 and the European championships in 2003. The well-known figure skater is currently playing an active role in a number of projects being run by the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee. Thus during the Games in London, Ilya Averbukh enjoyed success with his ice show, "Sochi: small stories of a big city". The show which took place in Sochi.Park, featured six Olympic champions and 18 world champions, including Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov, Aleksei Yagudin, Ilya Averbukh, Tatiana Totmyanina and Maksim Marinin. It was the first time that an ice show of such scale had been staged overseas. A total of over 12,000 spectators watched the show, which featured some of the biggest stars from the world of figure skating.
