Sochi2014 has praised the success of the Russian Paralymic team who have already won an impressive 10 medals at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games.
Russia’s Paralymians have scooped four gold medals at the Games to-date. Irek Zaripov (Cross-Country Skiing - Men's 15 km, Sitting), Anna Burmistrova (Biathlon - Women's 3km Pursuit - Standing), Kirill Mikhaylov (Biathlon - Men's 3km Pursuit - Standing) and Irek Zaripov (Biathlon - Men's 2.4km Pursuit - Sitting) all won their respective events. Silver medals were awarded to Roman Petushkov (Cross-Country Skiing - Men's 15 km, Sitting), Liubov Vasilyeva (Biathlon - Women's 3km Pursuit - Visually Impaired), Nikolay Polukhin (Biathlon - Men's 3km Pursuit - Visually Impaired) and Maria Iovleva (Biathlon - Women's 2.4km Pursuit - Sitting). Mikhalina Lysova (Biathlon - Women's 3km Pursuit - Visually Impaired) and Alena Gorbunova (Biathlon - Women's 3km Pursuit- Standing) both won bronze medals.
