The Grand Awards Ceremony announcing the Contest winners among the design organizations within the Green Building Recognition Program will take place 14 September, 2011 from 12 to 1 pm.

The winners in 9 nominations will be awarded by the Deputy Prime-Minister of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Kozak, Chairman of the IOC Coordination Commission for Sochi 2014, Jean-Claude Killy, IOC Executive Director for the Olympic Games, Gilbert Felly, SC Olympstroy CEO, Segey Gaplikov and Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee President and CEO, Dmitry Chernyshenko.

The 2011 Contest hosts 36 participating design organizations.

Best Water Efficiency Solution.
Best Waste Management.

Applications for the first round of the competition – to be held among Olympic venues design teams – are to be submitted starting June 5th 2011. Entries will be judged by a panel of independent Russian and International world’s leading experts in “Green” Building Industry as well as governance representatives. The winners will be announced and awarded with trophies at a gala-dinner award ceremony to be held September, 2011 in Sochi. The event audience will be the design and management teams of Olympic venues. A summary of the 2011 Round of the Recognition Programme will be published as part of the Sochi 2014 Green Building Repord 3rd issue that will be published by the end of 2011. The 10,000 square foot arena includes a major exhibit including displays on the city of Sochi, the Krasnodar Region and Sochi 2014 Partners as well as a giant Omnimax Theater screen, cozy sports bar, a fully functional press center and much more.

Sochi World guests can obtain more information about Sochi 2014 and the city of Sochi from an e-book, which describes Sochi’s history, culture and unique natural features. Models of the mountain and coastal clusters show where the Olympic venues will be located and an innovative 3-D model will give guests the impression of being transported to Sochi in 2014, allowing them to explore the stadiums and Ice Palaces, the construction of which is already rapidly progressing in Sochi.
