The morning will begin with traditional curling matches for the men’s and women’s teams. Speed skating competitions will take place at the Adler Arena for the men’s 10000 m, and the Iceberg Skating Palace will host short track athletes for the women’s 1000 m race, men’s 500 m race and the women’s 3000 m relay final. In the men’s and women’s hockey tournaments at the Games in Sochi, qualification matches for the quarter finals will take place, including a game between Russia and Norway.
Many competitions will be held at Mountain Cluster venues. Sanki Sliding Center hosts women’s bobsleigh. Men’s 15 km biathlon mass start will take place at Laura. At the Rosa Khutor Alpine Center women will compete for a medal in the giant slalom, and at the RusSki Gorki Ski Jumping Center a set of medals will be awarded in Nordic combined. At the Extreme Park a new Olympic champion in snowboard cross will be decided. Freestyle competitions will conclude this day with qualifications and the final in ski halfpipe.
