The Paralympic Games wrapped up with Russia’s undisputed lead in total medal count. The Russian Paralympic Team won 38 medals.
The last day of competitions brought 8 more medals to the Russian team.
Sochi 2014 Ambassador Sergey Shilov, Irek Zaripov and Vladimir Kiselev won gold, silver, and bronze, respectively and occupied the entire Paralympic podium of the Men’s 1 km Sitting Cross-Country Sprint event.
Nikolay Polukhin became a silver medalist among visually impaired athletes in the Men’s 1 km Sprint.
Kirill Mikhaylov won silver in the Men’s 1 km Standing Cross-Country Sprint Classic event.
The women’s team performed just as well and won three Paralympic medals.
Anna Burmistrova won bronze in the 1 km Cross-Country Sprint Classic among standing athletes. Mikhalina Lysova and Liubov Vasilyeva won silver and bronze, respectively in the 1km Cross-Country Sprint Classic among visually impaired athletes.
