On February 7th, the MegaFon pavilion was opened in the heart of the Olympic Park. Numerous guests of the ceremony were impressed by the huge portraits on the façade of the pavilion, among them Ivan Nikiforov, the Minister of Communications and Mass Media of Russia, Dmitry Chernyshenko, the President of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Organizing Committee, Ivan Tavrin, CEO of MegaFon and many sports and show-biz celebrities. They all were scanned and then saw their faces on the MegaFaces façade.
The first “Faces of the Olympics” were the volunteers, who are the heart and soul of the Winter Games. Volunteers from all over the world are working here in Sochi. Having passed through casting, their smiles and attitude now create the great atmosphere for all Olympic guests. Kanae from Japan is a real fan of Russian figure skaters. She is even learning Russian so that she could communicate with her idols. And now Kanae, Olivier from Côte d’Ivoire and Alexey from Russia are the first visitors of the Olympic park, who went through the scanning procedure in the MegaFon pavilion.
“I really love watching Russian figure skating, and it was my dream to be at the Winter Olympics, so I could see my idols with my own eyes. I have even learned Russian! – says Kanae. – I want to thank MegaFon for making me the “Face of the Olympics”, and from now on I am not just a volunteer, but I am part of Olympic history. Moreover, here, at the MegaFaces pavilion I met Tatyana Navka, one of my favourite figure skaters on the planet”.
To become one of the 170 thousand faces of the Olympics and to see your face in the size of 6x8 meters in the heart of the Olympic park is an opportunity for everybody – just go through the scanning process during the Games in the MegaFon pavilion in Sochi or in Gorky Park in Moscow.
