Sochi 2014 Marketing Club Annual Workshop took place in Sochi. Radisson Blu Resort & Congress Center Hotel, which was solemnly opened last autumn and is to accommodate the representatives of International Olympic Committee during Games time, lodged more than 250 Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee’s representatives, IOC, IOC World Partners and Suppliers, and Licensees of the Games of 2014, who gathered to discuss the results of 2012 and the goals for the pre-Olympic year of 2013.
Dmitry Chernyshenko, President of Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, and Evan Hunt, Head of Buisness Development of IOC gave welcoming speech. Igor Stolyarov, Executive vice-president of Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee hosted the event. Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee presented the results of its work in every function, fr om venues building to the implementation of volunteer program of Sochi 2014.
During Sochi 2014 Marketing Club Annual Workshop Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee has concluded a licensee contract with the biggest representative of food retail market in Russia X5 Retail Group Company. According to the document X5 Retail Group Company becomes an official operator of retail sales of Sochi 2014. In the framework of special exhibition Sochi 2014 licensee merchandise products that now will be available in stores of Russia were presented. With this contract Olympic retail products of Sochi 2014 will be on the biggest scale in history of the Games, and the general number of retail stores of Sochi 2014 will count more than 4300.
At the end of the first working day all the participants of the session visited Olympic Park, wh ere they saw Olympic venues, and tried Olympic sports. On the ice rink of the Center of speed skating “Adler Arena” special for Partners and Licensees of Sochi 2014 competitions in hockey and curling, and master classes in figure skating were organized.
In the framework of the second session members of the Club discussed communication activities and marketing abilities during Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as practical questions of implementing of Partners’ and Suppliers’ marketing activities during Games time.
Ceremonial dinner took place in informal atmosphere; IOC representatives and World Partners of the Games enjoyed Russians’ favorite game “Krokodil”, and guessed Russian folk songs, when representatives of Russian companies sang “Karaoke”.
Last day of the Workshop turned into a festival of winter sports; during Mountain Cluster tour everyone could try out the mountainsides of Krasnaya Polyana , and make sure that the snow in Sochi is real!
