GE – Worldwide Partner of the Olympic Games through 2020, including the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games, has held a meeting of the Sochi 2014 Marketing Club, where presented the program for the support of the Olympic Games and the Olympic Movement and organized the showcase of medical equipment used to monitor health parameters and physical fitness of Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
The meeting was attended by Peter Foss, President, GE Olympic Sponsorship and Corporate Sales, Christopher Katsuleres, Director, Olympic Marketing & Sport Programs and representatives the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee and its Partners.
The first part of the event took place at the FSI Roszdrav’s Health and Rehabilitation Center, where attendees were able to see the diagnostic-imaging equipment based on new technologies, and GE healthcare solutions in magnetic-resonance imaging (MRI) and computer-aided tomography (CAT), which are used for preventive diagnostics and for treatment of competing athletes, participants and attending staff at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The second part was focused on HealthAhead, GE’s global healthcare and wellness initiative aimed at educating people about health and promoting the overall value of good fitness. All attendees had an opportunity to take part in the «Exercise session» hosted by Alena Zavarzina, gold medalist of the Snowboard World Championship in parallel giant slalom, Honored Master of Sports and participant of the Winter Olympic Games 2010.
