I have been supporting the Olympic Movement since 1988, at the Olympics in Seoul. Then our footballers won gold medals; it was fantastic. Generally speaking, when associating with the Olympic team, you are unwittingly touched by their glory, their victories, and their titanic struggles, and you automatically become more demanding of yourself. As an Ambassador of the Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad, I would like to introduce everyone to the diverse culture of Russia. Furthermore, as an Ambassador I would like to attract more attention to the Games in Sochi, especially among those who have doubted whether this is project is worthwhile. Overall, I am really looking forward to this role as an immensely interesting opportunity to do something new; it will certainly make life more interesting!
