To be part of such a large, truly national event as the Olympics is a great honour for me. I know from experience what athletes feel when they hear the Russian national anthem. So, I can imagine what the winners, spectators and fans will experience at the Sochi Olympics when they hear the national anthem on their native soil. I'm also very glad to join the Olympic and Paralympic Movements, which are so powerfully positive and have such wonderful values. For my part, in my role as an Ambassador I would like to dedicate my time and effort to developing sport for children in Russia. I also think that the sports revival in Russia will help everyone to play sport, in particular orphans and disabled children, who currently have almost no opportunities to train. I think we really need to light up these little stars.
