Sochi can now set the mould for us, in its own distinct way. The city can show what we must strive to achieve in the future, and can prove that we are capable of creating new cities, and of reorganizing and restructuring our older cities. Over a period of several years, thousands of Kuban residents have been provided with steady employment and excellent salaries. The main transport routes throughout the entire Krasnodar Region have been modernized. In the future, we will see an even greater acceleration of economic growth in the Krasnodar Region. A first-rate center for global tourism has been created in Sochi, which will provide substantial tax income for the Regional treasury.

More than two years have passed since Sochi gained the right to host 2014 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. Sochi has changed a lot in that time. These changes happened thanks to our commitment to actively modernize urban infrastructure by adopting best practice from previous Olympic Games host cities.

Sochi residents want their city to become a friendly environment for living and the best resort city in the world. And these were the objectives they wanted me to have. As far as the support of the United Russia party goes, the very fact that I was their candidate already meant a lot. The most important thing for me was not to fail them.
