The Sochi 2014 Mascots have celebrated their first birthday with the launch of the new stamp sheets featuring the Olympic mascots - Polar Bear, the Leopard, and the Hare, and the Paralympic mascots - the Ray of Light and the Snowflake.

As part of the UN global initiative, "Agenda for the XXI Century", the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, the Russian Regional Environmental Centre and the Administration of the city of Sochi have developed proposals for sustainable development of mountainside villages in the zone of Olympic construction.

Within the framework of the V International Winter Festival of Arts, Yuri Bashmet launched an event which is being conducted under the backing of the Sochi 2014 Cultural Olympiad.

Circa 100 representatives of leading TV companies from around the world have arrived in Sochi to participate in the first International Meeting of Broadcasters of the Olympic Games 2014.
