

The Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee and the Publishing and Trading Centre “Marka” have today signed a licensing agreement which grants “Marka” the right to issue post and philatelic items with the Sochi 2014 emblem.

The Hydrometcentre of Russia has begun the trial operation of two environmental observation centres in the construction zone of the Olympic park in the Imeretinskaya Valley.
The “Sport in the Name of the World” festival has been held at the all-Russian children’s centre “Orlyonok” (“Eaglet”). Guests at “Eaglet” included the bobsleigh Olympic silver and bronze medallist, Sochi 2014 Ambassador, honoured Russian master of sport and three-time world champion in arm-wrestling, Alexey Voevoda.


Sochi 2014 Organising Committee is deeply saddened that, after a life of tremendous contributions to skiing, Jan Erik Hedström passed away after suffering a heart attack early this morning.

The plan – that will take the ROC through until 2020 – aims to provide Russian athletes with the best possible facilities for training and will benefit Russian performance at Sochi 2014.

Rosa Khutor, the major ski resort in the Sochi region, is set to host 11 different sporting competitions when the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games come to Sochi in 2014.

The XXII Winter Olympic Games, scheduled for February 7-23, 2014, will include competitions in 11 different sports.
