Sochi 2014 Mittens to Feature National Flags
Sochi 2014 fans from around the world will have the opportunity to express their support for their Olympic and Paralympic national teams by wearing colorful mittens featuring one of over 80 flags. Mittens with the national flags of all the countries taking part in the Olympic Games will soon be available for purchase in all Olympic stores across the whole Russia. At the first Sochi 2014 Olympic Flagship Store at the GUM department store in Moscow, BOSCO, the General Partner and Licensee of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and XI Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, recently unveiled a slogan to promote the Sochi 2014 iconic product: “Mittens. Warm. Good. Yours”.
The design of the mittens is truly unique, as each set comprises two items - classic white knitted gloves with colored fingers and also finger-less mittens.
The fingers of the gloves come in the dark blue, yellow, black, green and red colors, symbolizing the five Olympic rings.
The mittens are white in color, symbolizing honest sport competitions, and the inner side of each mitt will feature one of the national flags of the countries participating in the Games. The Olympic rings and Sochi 2014 word mark are featured on the back of the Olympic mittens and the Agitos symbol of the Paralympic Games as well as Sochi 2014 word mark are featured on the back of the Paralympic mittens. Fans will be able to demonstrate support for their favorite team at the world's main sporting event by simply showing their palm with the flag of their country.
The knitted mittens will not only keep the visitors of the Games warm, but also the Olympic and Paralympic Torch Bearers, the members of the Russian National Olympic and Paralympic Teams and the employees and volunteers of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee.
The retail price of the gloves is 500 rubles. The mittens will be sold separately.
