The FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup stage concluded at the "Rosa Khutor" Extreme Park in Sochi
On February 19, the ski cross competitions have concluded the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup stage at the "Rosa Khutor" Extreme Park in Sochi.
In the ladies’ event, two skiers from Canada stepped on the top of the podium. Kelsey Serwa clinched gold as her younger team-mate, Marielle Thompson, finished second. Fanny Smith of Switzerland took the third place.
Victor Oehling Norberg of Sweden won the men’s ski cross as Canada’s Christopher Delbosco came second and Andreas Schauer of Germany got bronze.
The ski cross races have become the last competitions in the Sochi 2014 international test events’ program at the "Rosa Khutor" Extreme Park during this winter season.

Kelsey Serwa (Canada): "The course is awesome. It's the best track we've been on all year. We're running the snowboard track, which is proving to be good. There are some big jumps with long landings, which is nice."

Notes to the Editor
"Rosa Khutor" Extreme Park is situated to the west of a plateau of the same name. The unique snow conditions, combined with specialized courses for ski and snowboard cross, aerial and mogul competitions, parallel giant slalom and half-pipe events will make this venue a permanent site for staging elite global events.
The Extreme Park is located at an altitude of 1,100-1,200 meters above sea level. For sliding at speed and trick skiing, 6 tracks have been built with a total length of about 3.5 km on the Aibga slope. The starting points are located at around 1230-1070 meters above sea level, and the maximum vertical drop is 215 meters. The tracks are profiled for jumps, turns, spins, somersaults and twists of varying complexity.
