Strategic Aims

In organizing such a large-scale and ambitious event as the Olympic Winter Games, it is essential to have full mutual understanding between all those taking part in the Olympic project, which will be carried out based on a single vision of the strategic tasks:

  • To organize and stage unique and successful Games;
  • To ensure that competitors, guests at the sporting events and billions of TV viewers around the world are left with a positive impression;
  • To leave a rich legacy for Sochi, Russia, and the whole Olympic and Paralympic Movement;
  • To use the biggest international sporting event to the greatest possible effect, in terms of the long-term development of the region and the country.

To complete the tasks it has been set, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee and the other participants in Russia's Olympic project are being guided in their daily activities by a Games strategy, which contains 11 strategic objectives.

In order successfully to carry out the 11 strategic objectives, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee is bringing into practice effective, innovative solutions, project-oriented management mechanisms, and is arranging its work in accordance with principles of sustainable development and client-focus.
