The Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee gives special attention to the development of cable car systems for the transport of the Games' guests to Mountain Cluster venues. The overall length of the cable car routes is 21.6 km and their capacity is up to 4,500 people per hour. The cable car routes link transport hubs and sports venues: The “Laura” cross-country ski and biathlon complex, the X-treme Park “Rosa Khutor” and freestyle center.
Work is also being carried out on the design of 3S high capacity cable car routes. Their construction will make it possible to reduce costs on road structures in the Mountain Cluster and their effect on the environment. The length of the 2 3S cable car routes is 8.3 km.
