Spectator Transport System
The spectator transport system will run between the sports venues and the main districts of the city of Sochi. Transportation for spectators includes a network of rail and bus routes, as well as a system of cable cars.
Travel on the transport services for spectators during the Games will be free for spectators who have a valid ticket for an event on that day (sport competition, Ceremony).
The Spectator Transport system will be comprised of a total of nine transportation hubs, which will make it easy to travel and simplify transfers between venues.
Transportation hubs are located in the major population centers of the Coastal and Mountain Clusters: Sochi, Matsesta, Khosta, Kudepsta (bus stop), Adler, Airport and Olympic Park, as well as in Esto-Sadok, Krasnaya Polyana, and Rosa Khutor. The journey time between the Coastal and Mountain Clusters will be no more than one hour using the new railway line.
To get to the Olympic Park, where all the sports venues of the Coastal Cluster are located, spectators will need to travel to the Olympic Park transportation hub. All venues in the Coastal Cluster will be within walking distance of one another.
Railway, bus and multiple cable car systems will operate in the Mountain Cluster.
Cable cars connect the transportation hubs to the sports venues in the Mountain Cluster at the following sports venues: «Laura» Cross-country Ski & Biathlon Center, “Rosa Khutor” Extreme Park and Alpine Center, «RusSki Gorki» Jumping Center and «Sanki» Sliding Center.
If you purchase a ticket to a competition in the Coastal and the Mountain Clusters in a single day, please plan your travel well in advance and be aware of the travel times between venues and Clusters.
Please be prepared to pass through security checkpoints where you will undergo a patdown and an inspection of all personal belongings.
PLESASE NOTE: Additional information, travel details and schedules for routes of the spectator transportation system will be published in November 2013.
