Partners' educational programs

The RF Ministries and the regional administrations, as part of their cooperation with the RF Ministry of Education and Science, have made sure that the Sochi 2014 educational material was included in the All-Russian contest for schoolchildren "The President's Competitions", the All-Russian contest for schoolchildren "The President's Games", the All-Russian competition "The Olympics begin at school", and other events. Thanks to cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Sport, Olympic and Paralympic knowledge is going to be integrated into the Amateur photo contest "Get involved in sport!" and the All-Russian contest for the best set-up work in terms of promoting a sporty, healthy lifestyle in the Russian Federation.

As a result of cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Krasnodar Region, the Sochi 2014 education programs were included in the competition "The All-Kuban Olympic school hour", "The All-Kuban Spartakiad "Sporting hopes for Kuban", and the regional "Faster, Higher, Stronger!" competitions, held among children's educational institutions focusing on physical exercise and sports, within the Krasnodar Region's education system.

Thus, the scope of the Sochi 2014 educational events has increased significantly: for example, in the summer months, as part of the Summer Health Campaign "Summer 2012", 400,000 children were able to find out about the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and during the "President's Competitions" - the 7 million or so children who took part.

Sochi 2014 Partners

The Sochi 2014 partner companies are taking part in the Olympic and Paralympic education programs: Coca-Сola, Dow, McDonald’s, P&G, Rostelecom, Sberbank, Russian Railways Company, EF English First, PwC and others. For example, the company Rostelecom is acting as the telecommunications partner for the Sochi 2014 education program, providing video-conferencing in order to carry out long-distance training in all 83 federal subjects of the Russian Federation. EF is teaching English both to the volunteers, and to staff from the companies involved in the Sochi 2014 project. And the company Detech is in charge of testing potential volunteers and conducting training sessions for those who have been selected for the volunteer team to assist at the Games in Sochi. By going through special training courses, the staff from the partner companies are themselves becoming fully-qualified "Sochi 2014 teachers" in their own right. For example, the company Rostelecom organized an "Olympic Knowledge Day" in September 2011 in over 60 Russian regions, and the companies P&G and PwC held a series of educational events in dozens of schools and educational institutions in Moscow.

Sochi 2014 Volunteers

The Sochi 2014 volunteers are also enabling Olympic and Paralympic knowledge to be spread. Forming an information legacy about the history of the Olympic Games, the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Movement, and the Sochi 2014 Games was the key objective of some Olympic lessons conducted in the 26 Sochi 2014 Volunteer Centers in more than 14 regions of the Russian Federation. In the III quarter of 2012 alone, the 26 Volunteer Centers have held over 1,500 thousand lessons, attended by more than 57,000 people.
