A resort made from in industrial area.
There are a lot of examples of how the Olympic Games dramatically changed the form of a city, its infrastructure and economy, actually giving the city new life. For example, Barcelona, not really suited for tourists, was transformed from an industrial center into a world resort (just think — more than 500 tons of garbage was removed from the city streets!), and Beijing became a true display of achievements of modern China. Moreover, the famous "Bird's Nest", a stadium built specifically for the Olympic Games of 2008, not only brilliantly handled its functional load, but it went into the textbooks of modern architecture as an example of unique technologies in construction.
