I would say that we’re delighted to see how the preparations are going for the Olympic Games in Sochi. Our Russian friends have done some great work and are running to schedule on all of it.

Russia’s construction companies have smashed all the world records going: never before has such a complex venue (Sliding Center "Sanki" - "Sochi 2014") been put up so speedily and in such a high-quality manner, in under two years!

"The Sochi 2014 Games are going to be truly extraordinary, unlike anything we have seen before".

Staging the Olympic Games without volunteers would be unthinkable. I am pleased to see that a burning heart was chosen to symbolize the volunteer campaign. It represents the mood and spirit of those taking part in the movement.

I want to show everyone, by my skating, that I can still perform, even after winning the Olympic Games. I can't say where I will finish at my fourth Olympics, but for me, taking part in the Games in Sochi will be a victory in itself.

The impetus which the Olympic Games has given to the Volunteer Movement in our country will be even more important than the Olympics itself for forming civil society and for Russia’s social and political development.

This year we will prepare all the Mountain Cluster venues for staging sports competitions. Next year starting from May and till September, all the arenas except for the Central Stadium must be completed.

According to some reputable researchers, the Holy Mount Olympus belongs somewhere to the Caucasus Mountains.

It is an honour for me to be offered the privilege to become a Sochi 2014 Ambassador.

With postage stamps and envelopes being dispersed worldwide, we believe it is one of the best ways to commemorate the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games.

The Sochi Games have already become a model for other major Russian infrastructural projects and a sample for applying some most advanced practices in various regions of our country.

We have been very impressed with the way the organizers have proactively reached out to people in every corner of the country to make them feel part of the Sochi Games.

We’ve had a very productive two days here in Sochi and have seen continued progress in the development of the sporting venues both in the coastal cluster and in the mountains.

On June 11, there will only be 1,000 days left before the Paralympic Games, and we shall start the countdown up to this historic event for Russia.

It was great to see the whole of Russia getting involved in Sochi 2014’s 1000 days to go celebrations.

I would like to congratulate the Russian people and the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee on choosing the Hare, Polar Bear and Leopard as mascots. 

The FIS have concluded that the European Cup will attain the highest grading level, for the preparation of the pistes itself, the way the work here was organized, and so on.

We are happy to see that 40 percent of the constructions are finished. We should be at about 70 percent at the end of 2011. We are on target.

All preparations for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi on the Black Sea are being carried out in a way that causes the least possible damage to the natural environment.
